About our speakers....... Eric and Nancy Liebes have spent many years in the dog show world and they know every aspect of the business. They have owned, bred, and handled Best In Show and group-winning dogs, and won five national specialties in a row in the 1980s with three different Komondor bitches. Two of those bitches and four of the wins were breeder - owner - handled. They worked for top handlers and professionally handled prior to becoming judges. Some of the dogs they have specialed have been ranked in the top ten and some still hold records. They have also titled dogs in obedience including many CDs and one of the first CDXs on an Ibizan Hound. They have owned dogs of many breeds which includes dogs in every group and have finished dogs they have bred in every group but toy. The Liebes are very dedicated and enjoy learning all they can about dogs of every breed, consequently they have many experiences to share with us. An example of that dedication includes the study of Akitas in Japan and Siberian Huskies in Alaska. Also, they realized that the best way to learn more about their own breed was to learn about others, so Nancy bought a Saluki and Eric got an Ibizan Hound. This sent them full speed into the world of sighthounds and the lessons learned from working with performance athletes. Those lessons served them well in their breeding program with their Komondors as they applied what they learned to a very different breed. The results of using that new information in their breeding program achieved surprising and wonderful results. They have designed a unique seminar to teach us the secrets of the trade they have collected through lots of hard work and submerging themselves into the dog show game. Their techniques have brought great success with their students who have gone on to do some very impressive winning immediately after hearing them speak. With their diverse experiences in breeding, training, handling, grooming and judging, the Liebes' offer the kind of insight that it takes to truly excel in the ring. Whether in the competitive Doberman ring or the group ring their students gain the confidence and vision necessary to make that perfect picture with their canine partners and win! This seminar is about high level handling.... the results of this class have advanced the almost winner to the consistent winner, the Reserve Dog to the Winners Dog, the Group 5 dog to the consistent Group placer! Eric and Nancy currently live in Texas with ten dogs, three cats, and a very gregarious parrot named Ernie.
